Plant Explosion Rocks Port Neches

It is not a relaxing Thanksgiving for local Port Neches residents and business that were rudely awoken at about 1 am Wednesday. The TPC chemical plant off Spur 136 exploded sending shock waves through neighboring houses and businesses. Broken windows, blasted in front doors, and other damage has been reported.

There is a mandatory evacuation for everything within a half mile zone of the plant, which includes mostly residential properties. So far three injuries are reported and the cause of the explosion is unknown.
